FGS Plant selects Waste machines from Greenshields JCB

The waste sector has worked relentlessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic providing critical household and municipal waste services. One result of the early lockdown, helped by the favourable weather conditions, was the additional waste created by homeowners nationwide who tidied and de-cluttered their homes and gardens like never before. When considered alongside green ambitions of the Government, the waste and recycling sector is arguably more important than ever.

Greenshields JCB customer, FGS Plant, has long acknowledged the importance of the waste sector and the benefits of dedicated JCB Wastemaster machines. The company has recently taken delivery of five new JCB 550-80 Waste Master Loadall telescopic handlers to replace and expand its existing fleet. The machines will be put to use by the recycling arm of the business, Countrystyle Recycling, as well as for general hire.

Stuart Willy, FGS Plant’s Managing Director, confirmed the deal for the machines which were delivered at the end of 2020 ready to be put to work at the start of the year;

“We really like the 550-80 Waste master range from JCB because the machines are specifically designed to cope with the rigours of waste and recycling sites and we don’t have to organise any retrofitting to make them fit for purpose. The dedicated spec includes extra guarding, underbelly protection and uprated hydraulics and the one-piece chassis offers extra strength and durability. The new machines have huge breakout forces which means we have been able to ramp up our productivity and handle even greater volumes of waste at our recycling and recovery sites.”

FGS Plant has a huge mixed fleet of plant which includes JCB excavators, wheeled loading shovels, telehandlers and recently, for the first time, JCB access equipment. The company prides itself on supplying the highest quality plant sourced from leading manufacturers. Established in 2004 the company has become a major force in the rental sector in the South East, supplying machinery and equipment to small and large contractors throughout the area.
