Growing South East based construction business, The Hague Group, has concluded a second deal for new machinery with Greenshields JCB following a successful initial deal last year.
The new order for machines includes further 13 and 22 tonne JCB JS excavators, as well as five more of the popular 5 tonne minis, the JCB 8055. All the machines – including the reduced tail swing minis – have been purchased to replace a competitive brand and, according to Kai Bailey – Hague Group’s Plant Director – the company will continue the switch to JCB thanks to the performance of the machines and the great service from the dealer.
“Our plant division bought its first set of JCB machines last year to replace some of our older fleet excavators. We’d been experiencing service issues with the former manufacturer, so we researched a new supplier very thoroughly before concluding any deal. Switching to Greenshields JCB has been a very positive experience for us. Matt Sephton, their Sales Manager, is particularly attentive to our needs and ensures we are looked after well in both a sales and service capacity.”
One of the features widely used by the company is LiveLink – fitted as standard on practically all new JCB machines. The system allows the company to monitor its JCB machine fleet in real time at all times as long as access to the internet is available. As well as keeping an eye on the location of the machines this has allowed the company to monitor machine hours and performance; enabling routine servicing at the optimum time or giving advance warning of potential issues. The company also monitors fuel consumption, which, thanks to JCB’s Tier 4 engines, has highlighted real savings on fuel costs.
“The emissions control system on the JCB excavators is also far simpler and more reliable as a result. We are swapping out machines on a regular basis to ensure our fleet is fresh and productive and we expect to place more orders in the near future now that we’re confident that we’ve found the best supplier locally for our needs.”
